About

Dr. Jessica (Nikki) Myhre, Travis Myhre and the “boys.”

Dr. Nikki Myhre is an osteopathic physician who cares deeply for her patients. She believes that the doctor/patient relationship is essential.

Dr. Myhre attended medical school in Fort Worth, Texas at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathy Degree in 2010.

What is a DO? A DO is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. They are fully licensed physicians who practice in all areas of medicine. Emphasizing a whole-person approach to treatment and care, DOs are trained to listen and partner with their patients to help them get healthy and stay well.

DOs receive special training in the musculoskeletal system, your body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones. This training enables Osteopathic Doctors to perform osteopathic manipulative treatments or OMT.

“Osteopathic physicians focus on prevention, and how a patient’s lifestyle and environment can impact their wellbeing. DOs strive to help their patients be truly healthy in mind, body and spirit — not just free of symptoms. ” DoctorsthatDo.org

Dr. Myhre then attended residency in Casper, Wyoming at the University of Wyoming family medicine residency program. After finishing residency in 2013 she moved to Port Angeles and started working with Olympic Medical Center until July 2020. During that time, she and her family spent one year in New Zealand where she practiced in a rural clinic. In August 2020, she started her own medical practice (Koru Health) in order to take care of patients in a way that values the patient/doctor relationship. By adopting the direct primary care model, she is able to spend more time with her patients and give more personalized care.

Travis Myhre, Dr. Myhre’s husband, is a key member of the Koru Health team. He is the practice manager, working mostly on the business side of things.
